The Problem
We all know the feeling: it's time to watch a movie, but browsing through endless catalogs wastes precious viewing time. You end up spending more time deciding what to watch than actually watching it. It's frustrating, and it kills the mood.
Our Solution
My wife and I started keeping lists of movies we wanted to watch in a shared note. It helped us stay organized, but we wanted more. We decided to gamify it—to turn movie selection into something fun. We came up with the idea of drafting a shared movie list, like a fantasy sports draft but for films. We did it all in a shared text note, and while it was fun, it was cumbersome and tedious to manage manually.
I realized we needed a better tool. Something online where we could:
- Search for and discover movies we want to watch
- Maintain our own personal watchlist
- Create and run movie drafts dynamically and interactively
MovieDraft is Born
